Thirty-five years of building what the catalogue does not sell
Very high pressure is a field where the standard part almost never fits. A cell has to enter a cryostat that already exists, a heating stage has to clear a detector, an optical head has to sit at the height of a beamline table. BETSA® was built for exactly that: we design, machine, assemble and deliver the instrument your experiment needs, and we do all of it under one roof.
Our workshop carries the machines that make it possible — column drill, laser engraver, precision micro-lathe, polisher, stabilization oven, electric discharge machine. Nothing is subcontracted at the critical steps, so a modification you ask for on Monday is on the bench the same week, and the person who drew the part is the person who cuts it.
We work with you from the first sketch to the final acceptance: your constraints, your laser, your sample environment, your available space. It can be a single adapter, a small series of cells, or a complete instrument. Tell us what your experiment demands. We like the ones nobody else wants to quote.

Four examples among many. Each one started with a constraint that no standard product could satisfy.

A custom M-DAC for a SOLEIL synchrotron beamline
This M-DAC was specially manufactured for a SOLEIL synchrotron beamline, with a goniometer able to accept a maximum load of 150 g. The 125 g cell is made of beryllium copper and titanium, and features a membrane and clamp screws with a gearbox.

A custom shutter for a Jobin Yvon Raman spectrometer
A shutter designed specifically for a Jobin Yvon Raman spectrometer. It switches between an ultra-fast camera input and the Raman signal, and features a rotating turret for multiple magnifications.

Custom-made chillers
A cooler can be tailored to your specific needs, ensuring your experiments are always at the right temperature — whether you need to lower it for biology experiments or to maintain a constant temperature during laser heating.

Custom-made M-DACs in small series
Some of you need several cells for long-term experiments or to equip a whole team. That is why we also offer custom-made manufacturing of M-DACs in small series.
